Exceptional training is a longstanding hallmark of Local 44. From our five-year apprenticeship program to our specialized classes for journeyman, we offer a flexible curriculum that not only supports our members but also furthers our trade.
With a broad collection of training modules and equipment, our trainiing center is one of the most advanced pipefitting/steamfitting facilities in the United Association. It reflects our time honored approach where our apprentices learn from our journeymen and are expected to pass their knowledge on to the next generation.

To Whom It May Concern:
The Inland Empire Plumbers and Steamfitters Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee hereby issues official notice to all interested parties that they will continue to accept applicants for apprenticeship opportunities throughout the coming year of 2019.
The recruitment, selection and employment of apprentices during their apprenticeship shall be without discrimination because of race, sex, (including pregnancy and gender identity), sexual orientation, color, religion, national origin, age, genetic information, disability or as otherwise specified by law.
As part of the committee’s continuing Affirmative Action efforts, minorities and females who meet the minimum qualifications, as outlined on page two of this notice, are urged to apply during the application availability periods as detailed in the following paragraph.
Applications are available at:
Plumbers and Steamfitters Union Training Center
Applications are accepted on a year round basis Monday through Friday, excluding Holidays, from 8:00 am to 12:00 pm and 1:00 pm to 5:00 pm.
The deadline for returning completed applications and other required documents will be thirty (30) calendar days prior to the interview dates. Any application returned after the thirty-day time limit will not be processed by the committee.
Following the individual application issuance and return period, all applicants who have met the minimum qualifications will be notified when and where to appear for their evaluation interview before the Joint Apprenticeship and Training Committee (JATC). This oral interview will be one of the factors used in determining each applicant’s position on the eligibility list. The interview portion of the selection procedure will be scheduled on a periodic basis as needed.
The JATC proposes to register new apprentices during 2019. However, all applicants who are accepted will remain on the eligibility list for a full two-year period.
Complete information regarding minimum qualifications and also a brief description of some of the work involved in the trade are attached and thus made a part, by reference, of this official notification.
