Why these standards matter
The blueprint for registered apprenticeship
At the UA, excellence is not just a goal—it is a requirement. Registered apprenticeship combines structured classroom instruction with supervised on-the-job learning so apprentices develop the knowledge, skill and professionalism expected of journey-level workers.
What the standards do
They spell out the nuts and bolts of the apprenticeship program: occupational focus, how apprentices are selected, the training provided on the job and in the classroom, how progress is evaluated, wage progression, probation and program completion.
Why they matter to apprentices
The standards create a consistent, transparent training system. They define the expectations apprentices, training agents and the sponsor follow throughout the registered apprenticeship.
